I found this place as a must visit in many guide books but it turned out to be a regular market with clothes-groceries-provisions and some food trucks and nothing tourist worthy, really except if you are here to stock up on home essentials.

This market has improved over the years as to diversity in merchandise. At the moment two merchants offering tropical products are active. This , however, could mean that they are knocking each other out. Let alone that this cannot be too pleasant for the shop owner on Dapperplein, who at the moment due to the present economical situation in the Netherlands will do his utmost best to survive. At present a good fishmonger is available, offering a good fresh product, next to prepared fish. Then a good poultry merchant can be found, and of course, since many years Tony Koster, selling his potatoes, onions ( unfortunately no white ones any longer) and garlic. Furthermore a good diversity in merchandise, both edible and non- edible is available. Then next to the marketplace you will find quite some interesting shops. In short: a place worth visiting.
